Ecologi are a carbon-reducing, forest-replenishing, job-creating organisation who are dedicated to saving the planet one tree at a time. Since their inception, they have gone and planted 27 million trees (as of December 2021) which is a reduction of 965,441 tons in the atmosphere.
Often referred to as ‘the lungs of the Earth’, trees breathe in harmful carbon and breathe out lovely, refreshing, life-giving oxygen (you could say they’re ex-tree-mely important... you don’t have to, though!). Forests alone absorb roughly 2.6 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide a year, and we’ve cracked out the calculators and can confirm that is an awful lot of carbon! So, by planting more, we can help to absorb more!
Not only do they help to control the levels of CO2 being released into our atmosphere, forests also provide a load of other brilliant benefits: they help to purify our water, provide a habitat for millions of the Earth’s animals and plants, deliver jobs to over 1.6 billion people around the world, and produce vital ingredients used in 25% of all medicines! Pretty important, ay?!
